Aman Sagoo is a London based artist whose practice covers fine art, graphic design and illustration. She studied BA Fine Art at the University of East London as a process painter exploring abstract organic forms manifested through chaos and control. How visualised systems attempt to inform the relationship between nature and the manmade. She currently uses ink, paint, and biro to explore notions of extraterrestrial life, anatomy and otherworldly existences and parallels with our own. Slight variations in organic structures form earth like systems to create a sense of familiarity and sometimes, unease.
Her influences come from science fiction, 50’s B movies, fantasy, horror and the human body. She takes much of her inspiration from imagery of space, metabolic structures and NASA explorations. Artists of interest are Don Dixon, Mark Francis, Ralph Steadman, Terry Winters and Francis Bacon.
